I’ve been to Smith’s Olde Bar for two Steelers games and while the atmosphere is amazing (like being at the game) the seating sucks. When you get there almost every table is reserved. You try to call and reserve a table and they tell you only the fans who have been here the longest can reserve a table. Turns out you have to be apart of this club in order to reserve a table and you can’t be in the club unless one of the members doesn’t pay their dues.

So, when/if you go there, you have to get there many hours before the game even to score one of the 3 not reserved tables. I guess the plus side to the reserved tables is there will always be a crowd there. Just no where to set your food or drinks. Btw, the wings were awesome.

Before moving to Georgia I was co-founder of the biggest Steelers fan club “Northwest Steeler Nation” in the Pacific Northwest.
As far as the reserved seating we always encouraged the first come first serve approach. No reserved seating. What inevitably happens is that people are left feeling slighted. You’ll have people who show up very early and can’t get a great seat while some people show up mid first quarter and are escorted to prime seat. May work here but it was a point of consternation between members.
We also did not charge membership. The only requirement was wear your Steelers gear and our Steeler section (half the entire restaurant) was for Steelers fans only. You couldn’t bring five of your 49er buddies and sit in our section. You and your pals were more than welcome to the other half of the restaurant.
I’ll have to check you out one day. I’ll be early. Go Steelers!
